A hip new arts space.
The Gallery at Olean located in Olean NY is the new version of the original State of the Art
Framing and Gallery located originally at 1214 West State Olean NY. Owned and operated by
Syed M. Hasan Sr. in circa. 1985 until 1990. The economic recession of 1987-1992 had taken
its toll on Olean NY, and its many main street businesses; State of the Art Framing and Gallery
was no exception unfortunately.
Now in 2021, under the leadership of Dr. Syed M. Hasan Jr; The Gallery at Olean is once again
back in Olean NY. Trained by his father in the fine arts, Syed M. Hasan Jr. brings back to life the
family legacy that is to continue here in the Southern Tier of NY.
The Gallery at Olean will be located in the renovated Hanover Manufacturers Bank building
(affectionately known in town as the Hanny Manny bld.) located at the corner of State and Union
Streets in Olean NY.
It is envisioned that The Gallery will not only be a place for local artists to showcase their work
but an event site for folks to come and socialize. The Gallery at Olean will have both the first
floor and second (mezzanine) floors. The first floor will have a full-service restaurant, catering to
more affluent clientele for early morning breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with gourmet coffee
and confections.
The restaurant will have a French based menu for all meals; a creperie is in the works for a
more intimate dining experience; offering this elegance at a more reasonable price. The first
floor will have a gift shop and a custom framing store for customers to purchase original works
of art and or prints, with their choice of mats and frames all made onsite.
The Gallery will also host on a monthly basis; musical talent(s) from both classical ensembles
and Jazz artists to showcase their work live. We hope to sell our venue to the best and brightest
artists in the local region and well beyond. The Gallery will also host lecture series by local
artists and authors. We will have a set up on the first floor for such events and look to sell tickets
online for such events.
